Morning Prayer

Morning Offering

Oblatio Matutina

A prayer said upon rising in which one offers all the thoughts, words, and deeds of the day to God (often through Mary and in union with the Mass).

O Mary, I offer thee the sacrifices which the duties of my state in life demand and those I undertake besides, as well as the sufferings God permits me this day — in reparation for sin, for the conversion of sinners, and for all my intentions, especially for the grace of a Holy Death.

Make this offering upon waking and then renew it by offering each suffering or sacrifice you undertake this day with the aspiration,

All for Thee, Mary!·Omnia pro Te, Maria!

The Church has highly recommended the practice of making a Morning Offering upon waking. In recent times, Our Lady of Fatima has encouraged this practice. There are many different Morning Offering prayers, here is but one.

All that we do without offering it to God is wasted.
