Morning & Evening Prayer
Three Hail Marys
Tres Ave Mariae
A morning and evening devotion in which the faithful seek Mary's intercession before the throne of the Most Holy Trinity.
In honor of God the Father and the privileges He conferred on Mary,
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
By thy holy and immaculate conception, O Mary, make my body pure and my soul holy. Preserve me this day from mortal sin.
In honor of God the Son and the privileges He conferred on Mary,
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
By thy holy and immaculate conception, O Mary, make my body pure and my soul holy. Preserve me this day from mortal sin.
In honor of God the Holy Ghost and the privileges He conferred on Mary,
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
By thy holy and immaculate conception, O Mary, make my body pure and my soul holy. Preserve me this day from mortal sin.
On the first Hail Mary, meditate on how God the Father raised Mary above every other creature.
On the second, meditate on how God the Son communicated His inscrutable wisdom to Mary.
On the third, meditate on how God the Holy Ghost filled Mary with His love, tenderness, and mercy.
Three Hail Marys are offered — one for each Person of the Holy Trinity — together with a petition for bodily purity and protection from mortal sin. Brief enough to be said daily, this devotion unites the soul to Mary at the beginning and end of each day.
“He who perseveres in reciting these three Hail Marys, morning and evening, will never be overcome by temptation.”
